SportsArt has traditionally lead development in eco-friendly product innovation and as one of the first manufacturers of selfpowered elliptical trainers, it was only natural for SportsArt to introduce the ECO-POWRTM treadmill power consumption.
The Group has gone lean and green in its daily business operations to reduce its carbon footprint by:
• Replacing standard bulbs with energy-saving fluorescent lights.
• SportsArt uses 60 to 70% recyclable paper in its cardboard packaging and stopped using Styrofoam.
• SportsArt production facilities in Taiwan and China are designed to incorporate green features –
• Buildings are designed to benefit from natural light and use of complementary materials. The Kio pond exemplifying the design of a stress-reducing work environment.
• Innovative, sandwich like exterior walls naturally cool the building and the air conditioning system doesn't turn on until the temperature exceeds 28 degrees Celsius.
• Tinted windows not only let sunlight in but also keep heat out, reducing the need for electric lights.
• Collection and store of up to 7500 metric tons of rainwater for use in watering the grounds.
• Approximately 100 metric tons of production wastewater is treated and re-used to irrigate grass and flowers.
• Wastewater from the painting process is used after treatment to washdown the streets and keep roadsides green. At the factory in China, such wastewater ends up flushing the toilets.
SportsArt Fitness practice what they preach and have "gone green" more than any other company in the fitness industry and intend to lead by example.
